SECOND WORKING DAY OF SUMMIT100
Aranđelovac, October 07, 2011 – The second day of the Summit100 Business Leaders of Southeast Europe – Agreement for New Age has been continued with working panels in the Izvor Hotel in Aranđelovac.
Participants of the first panel, titled “Infrastructure – Prerequisite for Economic Growth”, have included: Vojin Lazarević, Chairman of the Board of Rudnap, Dr Gregor Veselko, Chairman of the Board of Luka Koper, Damir Kuštrak, Vice President of Agrokor, Andréas Beikos, Head of Representative Office for the Western Balkans in the EIB, with Miodrag Kostić, Chairman of MK Group as the moderator. The discussion has provided different perspectives of how infrastructure development can be used for the general benefit of the business community, namely higher competitiveness of products from the region. In addition, the initiative of the private sector in this area, as well as potential incentives of the states and available sources of finance for investments in infrastructure modernisation, have been discussed.
Between the first two panels, the Summit100 participants have been addressed by a special guest, Mike Zafirovski, Special Advisor of Blackstone, one of the largest globate private equity funds, and a Board member of Boeing. Slobodan Đinović, Managing Director of Orion Telekom, has been the moderator.
The second panel has been focused on the energy agenda of the region and overview on the current energy situation in the region from the perspective of a local producer/ distributor, large industrial corporates to whom energy is an input for the prices of their products or services. The discussion has included support to initiatives for investing in renewable energy sources and the price of energy, as an inevitable element of service prices. The panel participants have been: Boštjan Napast, CEO of Geoplin, Ivan Miloloža, CEO of Munja, Dragica Pilipović Chaffey, CEO, of SBB, and Miloš Hamović, Vice President of EFT, with Peter Frankl, Editor-in-Chief and Director of Finance magazine as the moderator.
The third panel has been focused on partnership of companies in the region and their joint appearance at new markets, with a special overview of how advantages of this cooperation can be turned into economic growth, and how to overcome potential administrative obstacles. The panellists have been: Krešimir Dundović, Member of the Board of Nexe Grupa, Iztok Seljak, CEO of Hidria, Stevan Nikčević, CEO of Jugoimport, Bojan Radun, Executive Director of Nectar and SAM President, with Miljan Ždrale, Senior Banker in the EBRD as the moderator.
Participants of the closing panel have discussed impressions from the Summit100 and the Summit100 2012 from the perspective of potential challenges and prospects for regional development, as well as a vision of the region provided that all discussed potentials, with political support, are achieved. The panellists have been: Srđan Šaper, CEO of McCann Group, Thomas Ehr, Managing Director of MTV Adria, Franjo Bobinac, Chairman of the Board of Gorenje, Živko Mukaetov, CEO of Alkaloid, and Slavko Carić, President of the Executive Board in Erste Bank, with Maja Piščević, executive director and Chairwoman of the Board of the SAM, as the moderator.
