Jasna Dominko Baloh, Professor of Pedagogy and Psychology, is an exceptionally dynamic, communicative, and open discussion partner. As a creative visionary, she established DOBA, one of the first private educational institutions in Slovenia, already in 1990. She was the first in Slovenia to enter a private company in the register of educational organisations as an educational institution with officially recognised programmes.
With time, DOBA developed into a true European business and educational centre, which today unites a faculty with five undergraduate and four postgraduate programmes, a vocational college, a secondary school, a Language Centre, and an Independent Learning Centre with numerous educational programmes. As one of the first faculties or higher education institutions, DOBA utilised modern communication technologies and began offering online learning without face-to-face interaction between the teacher and student.
Jasna Dominko Baloh is a member of numerous business and professional associations. In 2000, she received the highest national award of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of education for successful educational, innovative and organisational work and in 2007 she received the award of the Slovenian Institute for Adult Education for outstanding efforts in the development of quality in adult education.
