Esmir Ganic is Vice-President for International Relations at the American University in Bosnia and Herzegovina (AUBiH). Prior to joining AUBiH in August 2009 Esmir spent 16 years working and studying in the United States. He worked for the Environmental Defense Fund as Financial Analyst/Assistant Comptroller, the George Washington University as Administrative Manager, and the Embassy of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Washington DC as  Chief of Staff. In addition to his regular work activities Esmir was very active in Bosnian-American diaspora community where he was a co-founder of an NGO that advocated on behalf of Bosnian Americans in Washington, DC.

Esmir received his B.S. in Business Administration from Strayer University in 2000 and his Master’s in Project Management from the George Washington University in 2007. He is married and has one daughter.
