Zagreb, June 25, 2014 – Participants of the business conference Summit100 Business Leaders of Southeast Europe, the third joint meeting of the most prominent entrepreneurs and economists from the SEE countries, as well as of the region’s state delegations, will continue talks on the possibilities of cooperation on the strengthening of the countries’ economies and the competitive potential of the entire SEE.
This year’s Summit100 will take place on July 14 and 15 in Cavtat, Croatia. The main topic of this year’s conference will be the improvement of economic possibilities and regional cooperation through recognizing the potentials in the fields of tourism, transport and logistics, food and beverage, ICT and services, pharmaceuticals and energy.
The organizers of the Summit100 are the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP), Atlas Foundation, Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) and Managers’ Association of Slovenia (ZMS).
The conference will be attended by around a hundred business leaders from the SEE countries. They will participate in roundtable discussions, grouped according to the economic sectors, and discuss the impediments to and possibilities of cooperation in the region. The proposals of how to improve regional cooperation in particular sectors will be presented in a plenary panel session featuring the state delegations from the SEE countries, including Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Kosovo, Macedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia and Serbia, whose arrival has been confirmed for July 14. On the second day of the conference, the participants will focus on how to attract global investors to the region, with some of the largest investors in the SEE countries sharing their experiences, while the key managers of the region’s prominent banks will attend the final panel and talk about accessing finances for different business projects.
“One of the main goals of this year’s Summit100 is to create new opportunities for cooperation and strengthen the foundations for the realization of the joint business interests in the region’s seven economic sectors with the biggest developmental potentials. At this year’s Summit100 we will also have an opportunity to find out how to successfully institutionalize regional cooperation without jeopardizing the countries’ sovereignty and identity, by hearing about an example of cooperation between the Nordic countries,” stated Damir Kuštrak, President of the Summit100 Board.
