Summit 100 is a very important initiative for modernizing the region , said the President of Slovenia , Borut Pahor , durring the meeting with the members of the
Summit .
According to press release from the Atlas Group, in this meeting Pahor stressed the importance of continuing regional cooperation, and added that the political support in this regard is extremely important.
Meeting was focused on the preparation of the largest gathering of business leaders of South-Eastern Europe, Summit100, which will be held on 1st and 2nd
June in Portorož.
The main topic of this meeting was the possibility of regional cooperation in the fields of energy, tourism, transport and infrastructure, and the financial sector .
Pahor, as it was stated in a realease, evalaute Summit100 as very important initiative for the modernization of the region, and has added that it is important to focus on the economy and politics. “That is why we have given full support to the region for this project , and we will do ourpart of the job , such as the harmonization of legislation and solving political problems, while at the same time we expect from businessmen to take their part” said Pahor.
He said that in the project of Summit100 he recognizes optimism and active efforts for development .
“It is important that the region shows that it is able to make progress through its own efforts, because there is a lot of what this region has to offer!”
Chairman of the Board of Summit100, Iztok Seljak, pointed out that it is the right time to work on specific projects, particularly the establishment of the transport network.
Summit100 is expected to gather hundreds of business leaders in the region, and the presence on the panel of the development of „Smart cities“ ia already confirmed by the European Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc .
Summit100 initiative was made in 2011 and was launched by the Serbian Association of Managers, Croatian Employers’ Association and the Association of Managers of Slovenia, and soon after that was supported by the Atlas Foundation.
“The main goal of this initiative is to link entrepreneurs in the region and through partnerships and intensive cooperation improve the competitiveness of the region in terms of attracting foreign direct investment and the appearance on third markets “, was said in the release of the Atlas Group.
The first Summit100 was held in October 2011 in Aranđelovac, second in Bečići in May 2013 and the third in July last year in Cavtat.
