Belgrade, May 14, 2013 – The main topic of the “New Deal for a New Age” Summit100 Business Leaders of Southeast Europe is how business leaders of the countries of the region can enter third markets together. The event in Bečići, Montenegro, on May 23 and 24, 2013, will be attended by the most influential business leaders of the region and prime ministers of Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. High political officials of Slovenia, Croatia and Macedonia are expected to participate as well. The business leaders will discuss using their experience for business cooperation in creating sustainable projects for entering third markets together, as well as for cooperating in the region in order to contribute to more competitive products and services and resolving the major issue of unemployment in the region.
– The aim of the Second Summit100 Business Leaders of the region is to try to create a model of regional cooperation in the area of agriculture and food, energy, infrastructure and tourism – explained Milan Petrović, President of the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM).
At the two-day event, a dialogue on the major issues of the region, such as unemployment and human capital mobility as a potential step in resolving the unemployment issue, will be launched at panel discussions. Leaders of the region and their guests from international institutions will also strive to find the answer to the question of retaining quality personnel and preventing the “brain drain”.
– The media create public opinion, and therefore one of the panels will be focused on the synergy of the media in the region. More specifically, on the question whether it is possible to create wider consensus in the region which would encourage elimination of the prejudices and would allow further, more successful reintegration of the region, aiming to increase regional competitiveness – added Petrović.
The countries participating at the Second Summit100 Business leaders are Slovenia, Croatia, Serbia, BiH, Montenegro, and Macedonia.
Co-organisers of the event are the Serbian Association of Managers (SAM) and the Atlas Foundation, under the auspices of the Montenegrin Government and in cooperation with the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP) and the Managers’ Association of Slovenia (MAS). The First Summit100 was organised in Aranđelovac, in October 2011, where business leaders expressed their willingness to reach an agreement on priorities of regional cooperation and establishment of partner relations, as well as a synergy with the political authorities of the region.
